Emergency Meeting Minutes March 21, 2006

The officers discussed changes to be made to the constitution, and the members voted for these changes at the general body meeting. The constitution was then signed by those present.

The changes are listed below:

•  If there are more than 8 spots available on a trip, the President, Vice President, Treasurer and ChemE Car each have a position reserved for travel up to one week before the deadline.
  
•  Nominations will be held one meeting before the election meeting.
  
•  If any of the offices do not receive nominations (i.e. no one wants to fill that position) there is a two day grace period to find a member to fill that position.
  
•  Sophomore Rep does not have to be a member of at least 1 semester to be elected
  
•  Additional VP duty: Serve as a means of finding information about the organization
  
•  Additional treasurer duty:  At the first executive meeting of every month, the treasure must make a full financial statement

 We also discussed the Professor/TA Spring Awards Ceremony.  There will be only two awards given out, one for Best Professor, and one for Best TA.  Additionally, the following faculty and staff will receive special recognition:

•  Dr. Asthagiri-most involved
•  Dr. Curtis-as a thanks to the dept for all its help
•  Dr. Dickinson-newly appointed as a Professor
•  Dr. Orazem-for all his help to AIChE
•  Cynthia-for everything she does for us

 

•  The reception will be held on Tues 4/18, most likely in the Martial Arts room of the O'Connell center.  To help out, contact Rob.
  
•  The AIChE newsletter was sent out via email to ~1000 alumni. (Thanks to Morgan and all who helped put it together!) Another one page newsletter will be sent out at the end of the semester highlighting our activities (regionals, etc)-Katie and Candice will put this together by 4/10
  
•  Congrats to the AIChE Ultimate Frisbee team and Regional Dodgeball team!!!  We won the Regional Dodgeball Tournament!
  
•  There is a plant tour Thurs, 4/6 at the Tropicana plant in Bradenton.  Contact Lyle if you are interested in going.
