Officer’s Meeting
National Membership
- While not required, it is highly recommended for yourself and
the good of the club

- There is a mandatory meeting this Wednesday for all rep’s, the
president and the treasurer
Volunteer Sign-up sheets for:
- Fall Student Organization Fair-10-3pm***
- Mentoring and Tutoring***
- Will count as double points for the student development

- Sign-up sheet for this as well, very necessary; please help
out!!
Membership Requirements
- To be a non-active member: fill out the membership sheet, turn
it in and attend AT LEAST two meetings (the more the better! J)
- Active member:
- 2 Fundraising Activity points: Buy a polo, help out with
SAFE (work at football games), attend the Coldstone Social, become a
Nat’l member, buy Biery Room printer fees ($5 for Nat’l members, $10 for
non-Nat’l), help out with the sponsor letter
- 2 Social points: Department Mixer, AIChE meet and greet, Lake
Wauburg Social, On the Border Social, etc
- 3 Student Development points: 5 Info Sessions available,
mentor/tutor (count as double), attend Advisory Board meeting, plant
tour of Clariant (in Gainesville), attend a Professional Seminar and/or
help out (ECH4934), AIChE sponsored community service
Additional programs: Mentoring/Tutoring-PLEASE help out with
this wonderful program!!! It is a great way to get involved while
giving back to other students!!! Will count towards active membership
- Also: tailgating, career fair, Halloween Haunt,
newsletter are other possibilities for this semester
Ina’s idea to promote clubs to raise money for AIChE-to be looked
into further

General Body Meeting
Introduction of Officers
Reading of AIChE preamble to the general body
- See main site for links to Constitution
- Keith Heyer-described how to make changes (amendments to the
constitution):
- Read constitution, think of any changes, submit to the
Constitution committee, if approved will become a bylaw, if bylaw for 2
semesters, will become a full amendment
- UF intramurals-Ultimate Frisbee!!!
- Practice on Sundays at 4pm at Flavet Field
- Suggestions for all sports welcome and encouraged
- Please come out for a great time!!
Discussion of member/active member status-please see above
- Events:
- Lake Wauburg Social-Dec 7th
- Department Mixer-9/12-3-4pm in the ChemE building, (Biery
Room) free food!! Counts as a social; later the same day is the
AIChE meet and greet (6-7pm) with pizza, ice cream and social, get to
know each other!!!
- Tailgating-Homecoming Weekend, funded by Engineering Department
- Food provided, but we will not provide beer
- SAFE-get a chance to go to the football game for free!! (but
you have to work at it)
- Coldstone social-members enjoy ice cream and each other’s company!!
- Become a national member-low cost of $15, access to a prestigious
organization known among ChemE’s all over the country
- Biery Room printer fees-pay a fee and be able to print from the ChemE building
- Sponsorship Committee-to companies and alumni to ask for funding for
our organization, committee will write a new letter*** very important!!
- Contact Katie Wysocki to help out
Funds for our organization are limited, PLEASE help out in any way you
can!!
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Members were given a chance to sign up for various
opportunities. If you were unable to attend the meeting, please
email Rob Luft for more ways to get involved
- Mentor/Tutoring session-held after every general body meeting
(30min)
- Great resume booster!!
- Mentoring-a way to answer questions that fellow students have
- Tutoring-help out other students
- Prove the department wrong and make this program a
success!!!!!
- Additional Community Service-Ronald McDonald House (help
families who have a loved one staying at Shands)
- Website-check it out!!! The calendar has a lot of great
information, please refer to it!! Aiche.che.ufl.edu/calendar.htm
Additional program descriptions:
- Save your cell-bring in old cell phones to AIChE to save the
environment and help out AIChE (contest-who will bring in the most
phones?? Winner gets a prize!!!)
- Enviro-Ink-bring in old ink cartridges here, we’ll recycle
them and get paper to use in the Biery Room
- New Student Organization Fair-10am-3pm on Sept 14th
- Help promote AIChE to all UF students (open to all students,
not just ChemE’s)
- Info Sessions: there will be five:
- Companies: Anheuser Busch, Dow, Exxon Mobile, Citgo,
P&G, Hercules Incorporated
- Dates: Sept 14th, 18th, 19th, 20th and 25th
- Plant tour of Clariant in Gainesville
- We need people to attend!! Please sign up!
Advice from Keith on Career Fair:
- All students strongly encouraged to go, regardless of your
year
- Many companies are looking specifically for freshmen
- Of the 26 ChemE companies at Career Fair, 6 will be there
Monday for the non-technical day, go Monday to meet the recruiters and
get used to the fair, then go Tuesday will resumes
- Social-Tues night of Career Fair at On the Border, many
recruiters will be there so go for a chance to make an impression with
them, while getting free food and beer!
Regional Conference-the next one will be in Columbia, SC-priority will be
given to active members; only 20-25 people will be allowed to go
Lyle’s Financial Statements: starting balance: $2,620.29
- With our current budget, we will be in debt $1000 at the end
of the semester; PLEASE help out with our fundraising activities!
